</span>At age 16, Auntie sent Beverly (my mom) a train ticket – California to Missouri – to come live with her in Missouri and Arizona.<span>&nbsp; </span>Beverly was given things she never before was able to have.<span>&nbsp; </span>A wardrobe, car, braces for her teeth, boyfriends, college education and so many other splendid opportunities of life.<span>&nbsp; </span>Auntie did marry for a very short time and after a divorce resumed her maiden name.<span>&nbsp; </span>She owned a hotel, was a traveling button sells woman across America and traveled to many destinations all over the world.<span>&nbsp; </span>I am thankful for her.<span>&nbsp; </span>I believe not only did she change my moms life, but changed the lives of all future generations that follow in our line.<span>&nbsp; float: left; margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px;" /></a> It is amazing to me as I seek information and insights on my ancestors that they actually took that huge, giant, life-changing step and left their lives in Europe and came to the land of&nbsp; freedom... America! After crossing the ocean most did end (or start) on the American East Coast. And then it took only a generation or six to work their way to California. Ahhhhh California the farmland of sun and opportunity. After visiting many areas of origin in America, I see how the weather, climate, land availabilities and work have influenced their souls to "Go West". My husband, Rob Falke and I now live right next to Lake Erie where the winters are soooooo cold. Right in "the Ohio".
